Frequently asked questions about BopCut

What is BopCut?

BopCut is an online video editor and AI creative workspace available at bopcut.com. Its timeline editor works in your browser with your own video, audio and images. The workspace also presents a catalog of AI image and video tools.

How do I use the BopCut video editor?

Open the editor, import supported media from your device, add clips to the timeline, trim and arrange them, then preview and export your sequence. Follow the getting started guide for the full workflow.

Which browser should I use?

Use a current browser with JavaScript enabled. Chrome or Edge is recommended for the local export workflow. Playback and recording depend on browser and codec support; check a short project before editing a long sequence.

Can BopCut export MP4 and WebM?

The export dialog offers both formats, subject to your browser’s recording support. You can select 480p, 720p or 1080p. Local export records at 30 frames per second and normally takes approximately the length of the sequence. Read the export guide for details.

Are my montage files uploaded to an AI service?

Importing local media into the video editor does not upload it to an AI generation service. The montage and its export run in your browser. AI tools have separate processing requirements and availability.

Is a saved project the same as an exported video?

No. A project stores editing information for reopening the timeline, and may require you to reconnect the original media files. An exported MP4 or WebM is a playable video. Keep your project and source files if you plan to edit again.

Can I generate AI images or videos on BopCut now?

Paid AI generation is currently unavailable while account authentication and payment services are being connected. These tools require an authenticated account and paid credits. You can browse the model catalog and displayed prices, but cannot yet run a paid generation.

What do the AI catalog prices describe?

Video cards show one second at the minimum available resolution. A reference-video rate applies to models that use that billing basis; reference and output duration are billed separately. Other cards show an output second excluding reference fees. Image cards show the stated image settings. Read each card’s tooltip for the billing basis and any equivalent-price comparison. These are catalog previews while paid generation is unavailable.

Do I need to install BopCut?

The editor opens on the website and runs in your browser. You do not need to install a BopCut desktop application. Keep the tab open while editing and exporting, and save your work before leaving.
